About Me

Cherie: 20 years ago I hit a wall!!! Not literally... though that might have been easier than what actually did happen!!! but figuratively..... I knew without doubt on the 13 April 1991 that I could no longer keep doing the things I was doing.... I was going to end up killing myself... or someone else!!!! My life since that day has changed irrevocably - I've come to know myself at a depth I never knew possible... I've made peace with who I am... (LOL... well, most of me anyway.. :) still a work in progress!!)and I've decided the time is right to start to share my story publicly. My primary motivation for doing this blog is to help break down the stigma that is still attached to mental illness. I hope that you leave this site a little more at peace with yourself if you also live with/are recovering from mental illness - and for those of you who love someone who has a mental illness - I hope this gives you a little more understanding of the difficulties of living with an illness that much of society still chooses to, at best ignore and at worst, shame the people who have it.
